Practice Update: Functional Medicine care is still available during the COVID-19 quarantine. We are offering virtual telemedicine consultations for those that need help with a chronic health challenge or with building resilience and optimizing immune function.
WHAT IS FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE?
Functional Medicine works to determine how and why illness occurs by exploring the Root Cause of Disease. The Functional Medicine model is a patient-centered, science based approach to wellness; where practitioners create customized treatment protocols that are unique to each of their patients’ specific needs. It requires an in-depth analysis of biochemical, lifestyle and at times genetic factors that are influencing illness. Your practitioner, certified through the Institute for Functional Medicine, leverages that data to direct personalized treatment plans that lead to improved patient outcomes.
HOW FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE
MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Meet Dr. Adams
Dr. Robert H. Adams, DO. received his Certification in Functional Medicine from the Institute of Functional Medicine. Dr. Adams is passionate about the Functional Medicine approach to pursuing more vibrant health and wellness versus treating symptoms and conditions. He looks forward to partnering with you to explore your specific health concerns and create your ‘unique’ roadmap to better health.
As a board-certified family practice physician who is also certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), Dr. Adams and his team have specialized training and a targeted approach to medical interventions that enable them to customize your unique treatment plan. Your background is also unique and we look forward to developing a partnership with you to better understand how your health has impacted your well-being.
Our clinic uses a patient integrated platform, the LivingMatrix©, which organizes your detailed health history information into an assessment tool IFM calls the "Matrix". This makes it possible for our team to provide the best, most accurate feedback to you about your current health status and steps that we may recommend for your treatment protocol.
Dr. Adams has advanced clinical training in both the Kalish Mentorship program and the Bredesen Protocol ReCODE report which explores the underlying factors and possible causes of Alzheimer's disease.
" I contacted Dr Adams because I found that I could no longer work; I thought I might be experiencing some sort of neurological issue like Alzheimer's disease, as my father had been diagnosed.
I decided the Bredesen protocol looked like the best solution. It has been a pleasure to work with Dr Adams. He goes way out of his way to communicate with me and and my wife about each decision we have to make. Also Dr Adams is aggressive about seeking information and confirmation from other practitioners. This is really an important issue for me, as I have two copies of the APOE 4 gene, making the successful treatment more difficult.
I really feel that I was lucky to have found Dr Adams. He is very easy to work with and dedicated to the goal of improving my health. "
